It seems to me that my sisters and I were always showing some kind of animal whether it was a rabbit or a horse. Once my son came along, I decided to concentrate on showing dogs. I have titled dogs in Conformation, Tracking and Obedience through Utility.

My first Aussie was Shellie Bean, a blue merle bitch that I had purchased at a horse show, of course! :-) I was fortunate in meeting fellow Aussie fanciers such as Sue Franciso of Brightwood and Linda Allee of Silvertone. I got my start from Sue and Linda, with dogs like Ch. Brightwoods First Edition CDXM, and Silvertone Rosie Redlight.

I retired from showing and breeding for several years in the early 90's but in 1995 a blue merle male, by the name of Ch. Barcliffs Blue Dragon aka Elliot, came back home. Elliot was sent out with a handler to a few shows and took some exciting wins. So of course, I once again had to purchase a female. Through the kindness of Linda Wilson, I purchased Brookridge Bayshore Hotcakes aka Julie. We started rebuilding our kennel with Elliot and Julie as our foundation.

All of our dogs are sold with a contracts. Puppies have their shots and eyes checked before leaving for approved homes. Barcliff is a permanent registered kennel name with the Australian Shepherd Club of America.

I am a member in good standing of the ASCA and USASA.

Barcliff kennel is joined by my mother Jean E. Gerber.

I am also an ASCA obedience judge.
